Despite claiming he hates social media, Ja Morant recently took to Instagram to give off a preview of several new colorways of his signature Nike sneaker, the Ja 2.
The Memphis Grizzlies all-star updated his Instagram story with a photo dump that gives us a first glimpse of 5 new colorways of the Ja 2 that’ll likely release throughout the year. Bright colors claim 3 of the 5 pairs. The first pair sports a mixture of green, purple, blue and yellow, and appears to have colorful polka dots on the heel and included laces. The second pair pops in an orange and red color scheme with a blue-to-white gradient accenting the Swoosh and midsole. The third pair is a mismatched pair with the right sneaker having a volt-colored upper and blue midsole and the left sneaker having a blue upper with a volt midsole. That pair also seems to display some added design elements, such as “My Life” embroidered on the heel and some lettering printed below that which clearly spells something out but can’t really be determined what at this time without seeing the rest of it. The other 2 pairs are more laid back in terms of colors. One has a mostly black makeup with the only hits of color appearing in the form of Volt and Pink on the mismatched Swoosh’s. And the last pair sports a brown and peanut butter colored upper with pink and white Swoosh’s and is supposedly a tribute to the movie Rush Hour 3, staring Chris Rock and Jackie Chan. The words “Woah” and “Damn” are seen stitched onto the heel tabs, referencing a part in the movie when Chris and Jackie’s characters fight a kung fu giant.
As I’m sure you can imagine, release details haven’t been revealed at this time for any of the sneakers. So for now just enjoy the photos and stay tuned for further updates.
