With a sneaker collection worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, it’s fair to say that hip hop artist Lil Yachty can roll with the biggest sneaker collectors in the community. What’s soon to set him apart from most of them though is the release of his own signature Air Force 1 with Nike.
The two-time, multi-platinum selling artist has been tapped by Nike to have the unique opportunity to collaborate on the AF1 and give the iconic model his own signature spin. Yatchy
used the opportunity to create an Air Force 1 dedicated to the five-member rap collective he formed known as the Concrete Boys. Keeping things simple and understated, Yatchy and the other memebers – which includes rappers Camo!, Draft Day, Karrahbooo and Dc2trilloption – opted for an all-white upper paired with a navy blue liner. Rather than go off with some wild color scheme, they used the chance to add special branding to the sneakers to clearly signify them as their signature collaborative model. The tongue tag of the sneakers is printed with the text “It’s Us”, which is the name of the groups debut album. The heel tag is printed with the Concrete Boys name and a graphic that depicts a C in a collapsing brick wall. Finally, the groups signature sledgehammer-swinging character is embroidered on the ankle.
As far as a release goes, things are still a little hazy on that. Rumor has it the sneakers will be available at ComplexCon November 16th, but these images, provided by European retailer Foot Patrol, suggest that there’s a wider release in the works. Stay tuned for further updates.
